Tan Cheng Ling
obtained her Doctoral of Business Administration from Graduate School of
Business at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2009. She completed her
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Hons.), and later her Master’s degree in
Environmental Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
She started
her career as a quality consultant in 2000. In 2004, she was employed by a
Japanese-Malaysia joint venture based ceramic packages manufacturing company, SMCi
Globetronics Technology (M) Sdn Bhd as a quality department manager. In 2008, she
was then employed by Motorola Technology (M) Sdn Bhd, served as a global
supply chain quality consultant across various sites (Elgin, Penang,
Tian Jing, Taiwan, and German) to offer high level support to the quality
improvement at the strategic level.
She
is currently a senior lecturer at USM’s Graduate School of Business, where she
teaches courses in Operations Strategy and Service Science, Management and Engineering
management project at the postgraduate level.
Her current research areas are in
knowledge management, innovation/innovativeness studies, supply chain
management, and quality improvement. Further, she supervises and examines a
number of MBA, DBA, and PhD students in her field of interest.
