Dzulkifli Abdul Razak,Professor Tan Sri Dato
Dzulkifli (for short, Dzul) has
served as the 5th Vice-Chancellor of Universiti
Sains Malaysia (USM) from 2000-2011, and currently the 14 President of the International
Association of Universities (IAU), a UNESCO-affiliated organization based in Paris. He
was the President of Association of Southeast Asia Institutions of Higher
Learning (ASAIHL) from 2007-2008.
Dzul is an Honorary Professor at
the University of Nottingham; and holds the Chair of Islamic Leadership at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
He also chairs the Steering Council of the Right Livelihood College Global
Secretariat based in University of Bonn, Germany. Of late he has been appointed
to the Advisory Board of Global Leadership Initiative, University of Tokyo; as well as to 2015
Hamburg Transnational University Leaders Council, a think-tank.
He is also a member of the
Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) – Advisory Education Hub Committee since 2007, and was
a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Expert Advisory Panel on Drug
Policy and Management since 1995 until 2010.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of
Sciences Malaysia (FASc), the World Academy of Art and Science (FWAAS), and the
Malaysian Institute of Malaysia (FMIM). He writes weekly for the New Straits Times
(since 1995) and recently the Sun.
